Animal enthusiasts are deeply concerned about the cruel practice of organizing dogfights by heartless individuals. Such incidents result in mistreatment of numerous puppies, who are severely punished by their owners. These innocent creatures are often kept chained up without any access to food or water, which makes them feel desperate as they prepare to confront their opponents. Recently, a rescue mission managed to save 14 dogs from such a situation.
Thankfully, the destiny of numerous adorable puppies took a turn for the better as they were rescued by the SPCA during an anti-dog campaign in Able Springs, Texas. Whilst taking a stroll, Madeline Yeaman witnessed a heartbreaking scene where all the puppies were eagerly seeking attention, except for one who appeared to be severely malnourished and dehydrated in the distance. This pitbull dog takes center stage in our story.
The dog is wearing a huge collar that seems to be made from an old car part and it’s attached to a chain. To make matters worse, there is no shade available for the poor animal to hide from the scorching sun. The dog’s health condition is extremely critical, as it cannot move by itself and is on the brink of death due to severe malnourishment. Despite being in front of the open door of death, the canine decides to put up a fight to survive.
Upon the arrival of the rescuers, the dog was in such a weakened state that it required significant effort to stand up. Upon examination by a veterinarian, it was determined that there was no blood flow through the dog’s veins. Following this diagnosis, the dog was transported to a shelter where an extensive rehabilitation process was undertaken. The dog was given the name Gwen Stefani by the shelter staff due to its sweet demeanor.
Initially, the team attending to Gwen’s care focused on addressing the wounds caused by the tight collar. Additionally, they discovered that Gwen was infested with fleas and ticks, requiring specialized treatment to rid her of these parasites.
To aid in her recovery, Gwen underwent several blood transfusions and was given a nutrient-rich diet consisting of proteins and vitamins, along with ample hydration through water intake. Though her recovery was slow, it was ultimately successful.
Over time, the adorable canine started to show improvement and gradually regained her strength. She even began to act like a typical puppy, taking steps on her own and showing more energy. The people who rescued her couldn’t help but notice the positive change in her demeanor. They remarked, “Gwen is no longer the weak and hopeless dog we found. She now greets everyone with enthusiasm, wagging her tail and flashing a big pitbull grin.”
The transformation that the dog underwent was truly remarkable. Not only did her physical wounds heal, but her spirit also began to shine. Gwen is now living in a loving home where she enjoys running, bathing, and receiving plenty of attention. We owe a huge thank you to everyone who played a part in this incredible rescue story. By saving Gwen’s life, they have also given hope to other puppies who have suffered from unjust treatment.
